Extract from D656/22

IV. Preparing explosive grenade with time fuse (LP)

1. The flare gun should be protruding out of the opening for the close range defense weapon, guaranteeing best protection against flying splinters.
2. How to load and launch explosive grenade with a time fuse, and a normal flare with the flare gun.
3. The high-explosive projectile range of fire is about 7 – 10m. Bursting point is 0.5 to 2 m above the ground, with time delay fuse of about 1 sec.
4. The explosive grenade with time fuse (LP) is to be used only from armoured vehicles or from appropriate firing cover. Individual fragments fly up to 100 m radius. All turret hatches and openings are to be kept closed during firing of weapon.

Page 35 Operation

By releasing a lever, the firing pin is released, piercing the C45 igniter. The round is ignited and the loaded projectile is ejected.

Breakdown through Abnormal behavior

1. Smoke grenades

With unexploded round, a new detonator screw cap C43 is to be inserted; if another misfire takes place, the charge in the breech has to be replaced by a new round. In this case a failure of the propellant charge or the propellant is present.
